Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2009-10 season of the Rockville Centre Basketball League. The RVCBL is an instructional recreation league that encourages the players to have fun while teaching basketball fundamentals and teaching good sportsmanship. Please remember that the Sophomore Divisions (4^th and 5^th grade) are instructional and that our coaches and referee’s will act accordingly. In all divisions of the RVCBL sportsmanship is paramount and we ask that help us instill the concept of good sportsmanship into our student athletes.

 The League has over 1000 players and your cooperation is necessary to ensure that it runs smoothly. With that in mind please consider the following:

TEAMS MAY BE CHANGED-       

            Because of the difficulty forming balanced teams, requests to put children together on a team will, for the most part, not be accommodated. Also, it may be necessary to move players from one team to another after the season has started. If that happens with your child, your cooperation and understanding will be appreciated.

COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CHILDS COACH-    

           RVCBL rules dictates playing time depending on who is not present, therefore it is essential that the coach is informed if your child will be late or absent from a game. Please arrive ten minutes prior to the scheduled starting time for all games.

WEARING JEWERLY IS NOT PERMITTED-

            Players will not be allowed to enter a game if they are wearing jewelry. Parents of players in the Girls Program please take special note of this and schedule any new ear piercing accordingly.

RESPECT SCHOOL PROPERTY AND SCHOOL PERSONNEL-

             Please respect the school grounds and all school personnel. Do not let young kids roam the hallways and play on the elementary school stages. Do not let your children bring basketballs into the school buildings at any time. The League will provide basketballs for both games and practice.

NO SPECTATORS ON COURTS-           

            By league rule, spectators are not allowed on the court at any time during a game. Please keep children off the courts during all time outs.
